This hatha yoga posture is named in honor of the great monkey God Hanuman.
Start in a kneeling posture, palms on the floor close to your hips
extend the right leg out in front of you
extend the left leg back.
Breathing deeply, straighten the arms over your head
hold for about thirty seconds
come back to kneeling posture once again.
To prep for this pose, have a prop, like a chair or several pillows between your legs
practice with these for several weeks, modifying as you build flexibility.
