  1. Start by sitting the foundational pose of Dandasana

  2. legs extended, palms on floor by hips, fingers pointing toward feet

  3. gently scoop your sacrum down to lengthen the lower back muscles

  4. lengthen the spine, broaden the shoulders, and breathe deeply.

  5. Next, is Utthita Padangusthasana.

  6. There are several variations; reposition your hands behind you for stabilization.

  7. Exhale, raise your extended legs off the floor

  8. hold and breathe deeply

  9. in the beginning only hold for about ten seconds. As you practice, increase the amount of time.

  10. Next, a more challenging balance

  11. when the legs are extended, take our hands and grasp either under the knee's, ankles, feet, or toes.

  12. Again, hold only for a few seconds at first

  13. when complete, release the arms and legs, back to staff pose, Dandasana.

  14. Repeat several times holding and breathing for a great ab workout.
