Benefits of the hatha yoga Half Moon pose...

  • opens, balances and clears the 1st - Muladhara, 2nd - Svadhisthana and 3rd - Manipura Chakras.

  • increases circulation of the joints

  • improves digestion

  • Strengthens arms, legs, hips and shoulders


  1. start in a kneeling position, knees and hands on the floor

  2. bend and move one leg between your hands. Knee above your ankle

  3. extend your other leg back, toes touching the floor

  4. breathe deeply, lengthening your spine, neck, and extended leg. Take a paus and breathe.

  5. when ready, push up and balance with your arm and leg into Ardha Chandrasana.

  6. hold this hatha yoga pose for as long as you desire, breathing deeply

  7. when ready, exhale your body down into runners pose, then relax.

  8. repeat these steps for the other side.
